Thennat Viognier
The Viognier white grape variety has been historically grown in the Rhone Valley, France. It has been introduced in Argentina with great success, especially in the San Juan Province. The flavour of wines made from Viognier are described with fruity notes and pleasant palate.
Cultivation zone: Tulum Valley, San Juan, Argentina.
Vineyard training: High cordon system.
Pruning system: Shooting (horizontal apical dominance).
Distance between plants: 3m between each row and 2.4m between plants.
Yield: 10,000 kgs per hectare.
Age of vineyard: 10 years.
Harvest: Hand picked in baskets of 16 to 20 Kgs each.
Tasting notes: This is a fresh and interesting wine, with a complex and fruity nose and a long, round finish.
Recommendation: This wine goes superbly with light starters, hors d´oeuvres and soft cheeses and is equally happy to be drunk on its own. Recommended serving temperature: 8°C to 10°C.
