Thennat Syrah
The origin of this variety dates back to the times of the Crusaders when they imported it from Persia and took it to Europe. In Argentina this variety has been grown for many years especially in the province of San Juan where the Syrah has shown its best qualities. A very aromatic presence and intense colors are typical notes of this grape.
Cultivation zone: Tulum Valley, San Juan, Argentina.
Vineyard training: High Cordon and Geneva Double Curtain systems.
Pruning system: Shooting (horizontal apical dominance)
Distance between plants: 2.5m between each row and 2.5m between plants.
Yield: 10,000 kgs per hectare.
Age of vineyard: 35 years.
Harvest: Hand-picked in baskets of 16 to 20 kgs each.
Tasting notes: Enticing aromas of black currant and red berries blended with notes of vanilla and dark chocolate. This is a full bodied and intense wine. Smooth and supple, with an elegant and persistent finish.
Serving: This wine goes perfectly with red meats, especially lamb. Recommended serving temperature: 16°C to 18°C .
