Our Wine
The production of THENNAT® and THENNAT Novo® have been entrusted to our associated wineries which specialise in making high quality wine. These boutique winemakers, carefully selected from the best vineyards areas of Argentina, are located in the gentle slopes of the Andes lower mountains. This whole region is a privileged zone of healthy grounds, clean atmosphere and pure water.
THENNAT® Malbec, THENNAT NOVO® Malbec, THENNAT NOVO® Torrontés and THENNAT NOVO® Rosé de Malbec are elaborated with grapes coming from the High Zone of the Mendoza River, province of Mendoza (Argentina), at an approximated height of 900m Above Mean Sea Level. The soils of the zone come from aluvional sediments and show a sandy frank texture. The climate is tempered, luminous and barren, with scarce rains, moderate winds and little humidity, all of which assure the balance of sugar and acidity in the grapevines. The agroecological conditions are so virtually perfect that world renowned specialists consider this region as the best one in the world for the cultivation of these grapes. Mendoza is part of the GWCG (Great Wine Capitals Group) along with Melbourne, Bordeaux, Valley of Napa, Porto, Bilbao-Rioja, Cape Town and Florence.
THENNAT® Viognier, THENNAT® Syrah, and THENNAT® Cabernet Sauvignon come from the Valley of Tulum, in the province of San Juan (Argentina). The grounds of this zone are stony and covered by argillaceous sediments. This zone has the unique characteristic of having 300 sunny days per year. The thermal amplitude reaches 20ºC. The Zonda wind, typical of the region, causes the plants stay to aired and free of humidity. This assures healthy crops in a natural way.
The bodegas (wineries) are located in the heart of the vineyards and are equipped with last generation technology, including onsite laboratories for a permanent follow up of the winemaking process. The control of the grapes is done twice a day by specialised professionals. As for training systems Mendoza wineries favor the low trelling method, used along with anti – hail netting or trailed mesh (grembiule) for protection. San Juan winemakers use the high trellis and bilateral high cordon training systems. The pruning system is the classic Guyot performed manually with hand pruners. Irrigation is provided using natural pure water coming from the defrosting of the high Andean peaks.
Fruit is harvested by hand in small boxes to produce THENNAT® wines only from whole berries. Stems and leaves are separated from the grapes and then the process of fruit breakage starts, followed by the alcoholic fermentation, raising and bottling. Red wines also go under malolactic fermentation. During the winemaking process a partial selection of wines is taken to French oak barrels where they are aged until bottled.
THENNAT® is produced in limited parties wich are individually controlled.
